Fire of transformation

And now some spiritual secrets of the Pancake week…

The Pancake week is the symbol of newness. The celebration of the Pancake week historically concurs with the New Year's Eve (till fourteenth century the New Year in Russia began in March).

Come, fair spring! Come, fair spring!
With blossoming gardens, with tasty pancakes!

The Pancake week is the symbol of winning the Day over the Night, victory the warm spring over the cold winter. Man of straw, which is burnt during the celebrations, reminds us about necessity to burn our own defects and weaknesses in the fire of the determined thoughts. Past is passed! The Pancake week again reminds about the Holy festival by this fact. "Ho - li" in Hindi means "gone away, is over".

It doesn't matter how much there are the storms and winds
But the spring comes in order to bring happiness.
How much the soul misses the Sun!
Oh! The spring! You are so lovely!

The Pancake week is a reminding about the Sun. Therefore it is not by chance that on the Pancake week the pancakes are fried. They are hot, round and red. And they remind us not only about celestial star, but also about our Supreme Father, the Sun of knowledge and love.

Let the spring will be always in the soul!
Let the soul will be full and beautiful!
Let The Supreme Father sees the children-
And we become better and kinder.

The Pancake week is a reminding about respect for all forms of life on the Earth. Sometimes the Pancake week is called Emptymeat week. It's tradition that during this spring festival people don't eat meat. And therefore Russian Pancake week remind the European carnivals. The word "carnival" itself comes from Latin "carne vale" that means "meat, farewell"!
